There is no doubt Efya is recognised as a fashion icon in Ghana. She is always slick and well dressed on stage and never fails to give a great performance whilst at it. Below is a highlight excerpt from AllAfrica.com

‘Not only is Ghanaian Jane Efya Awindor who had a high octane performance in Kampala on Friday good at her music, she is also a fashion icon.

Efya has embarked on a fashion journey and has emerged as one of Ghana’s hottest fashionistas and is now described as a sleek, on-trend, fully paid-up member of Ghana’s ever fabulous ‘fashion-pack’.

Ghana is very proud of the ever rising homegrown’ talented stylista and Uganda indeed got a good feel of both her worlds – music and fashion at the Kampala Serena Hotel last Friday. The concert was sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager in an exclusive Jazz Concert for the TML 100 Club members.’

But what most don’t know is that the secret to her fashion sense and why she stands out from all other Ghanaian female artists, and African singers is very simple. She always wears fashion designs from some of Ghana’s most prestigious designers. Although not always spotted in all our videos, we have recorded Efya performing on 4 different stages. And she has always been spotted wearing the clothes of a Ghanaian designer.

The message is simple, Ghanaian designs rock. Their clothes may not be on the shoulders of international celebrities that most local celebrities aspire to be like, however, all it takes is for one unique diva to break the mold and in no matter of time be a trendsetter and fashion icon.
