Renowned German fashion brand shuts down Accra Fashion Week for the second time. Making its grand impact in the city of Accra in 2020 during the virtual edition of Accra Fashion Week, Impari Moda has become a household name in the Ghanaian fashion community and is soon to become one across all homes in a few years.
The fashion brand has built a reputation for producing sustainable fashion and inclusion as a strong theme behind its exhibitions. This has consistently been displayed in every sector of its engagement with Accra Fashion Week.
In 2022, Impari Moda introduced the lame collection which was more than a sight for sore eyes desperately seeking to be thrilled by print fashion. Even more so, appealing to the eyes thirsting for recycled creativity. And every inch of her show was worth the shutdown.
A BIT MORE ABOUT THE LAME COLLECTION
Lame collection is a rather quiet collection for the designer. The mix of the collection is what IMPARI is about. Streetwear with a lively backstory.
The story of the IMPARI show at Accra Fashion Week was to demonstrate that the fashion industry can only exist with sustainability. By collecting the bottles during the show in a bag made of RPE (recycled plastic), this story should become even clearer. Lame is made exclusively from leftover materials, so each piece in the collection is only available in limited quantities.
IMPARI means unequal. For me, unequal is the expression of individuality. The signature of my designs is characterized by self-created prints in combination with a variety of materials and colors. Above all, I want to set a new sign for sustainability in the fashion scene. I want to show that sustainable clothing can be fashionable and that joy, individuality, and connection can be expressed through bright colors. The most important thing in my design process, which is also reflected in all my designs, is diversity: the values of IMPARI are sustainability as the key of the label as well as the possibility to show real diversity through fashion to the outside world. Not only in the design process, but also in the selection of models and artists. It is important to me that this vision runs through all areas of my label.
