CEO and Founder of FashionGHANA and Accra Fashion Week, Nana Tamakloe was honored on 8th May by the Memphis In May committee during the Memphis In May Festival in Tennessee USA at the Kente and Kitenga Fashion Show and Champagne Brunch.
The honor recognized Nana as a cultural icon in the nation of Ghana for pushing African fashion worldwide for 10 years and creating a window for foreigners into the creative world of Ghana. Watch his speech below.
The Memphis In May Festival hosted the likes of the Ashanti King Otumfuo, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, the Ghanaian Ambassador to USA, and more Ghanaian diplomats as well as many of that from the state of Tennessee.
The Kente & Kitenge Fashion Show and champagne brunch also featured runway shows by designers Broots Fashion, Red Cotton Boutique, FashionGHANA & Style By Magbrien as part of the Salute to Ghana which celebrates the Heritage of the Ghanaian nation.
Memphis In May is a yearly festival that takes place in the city of Memphis every year. Each year the committee selects a country to recognize, of which in 2022 Ghana took its turn this year. See a few images from the event.
