Traveling to visit my grandma and family home is the most exciting day of my life BUT i hate packing and handling luggage. It’s a time consuming process of figuring out what to take and what to leave behind, and the realization that those five pairs of shoes you must bring taking up about half of your entire suitcase. Its only for a week or two, why does it have to be this difficult…phew!
That was my initial thoughts till i got hold of the tricks for packing and making traveling easier.
Now these are simple instructions for organizing your suitcase—and techniques for folding and rolling your clothes for a wrinkle-free arrival
Distribute the weight – Put heavier items on the bottom of your suitcase. This includes shoes , rolled jeans, and blazers (folded into dry-cleaner bags). Lighter pieces go at the top.
Protect your clothes from the dirty soles of your shoes by placing pairs in shower caps before you put them in your suitcase.
Protect your perfume bottle and any other breakables by slipping them into socks.
Ziplocs bags are great for small accessories and toiletries.
Roll clothes instead of folding- This approach minimizes creasing and maximizes space, It’s best for lighter-weight pieces—cotton shirts, khakis, jeans etc. You’ll be amazed at how much less space they’ll take up.
If you’re low on space, stuff socks and beauty products (that won’t burst or leak) inside your shoes.
Save space and help your bras maintain their shape by stacking them on top of each other, folding them in half, and tucking your underwear inside. This will keep bras from creasing inward, and utilize an otherwise empty space in your suitcase.
