A proud partner to the PayPecker Accra Fashion Week 2021 event is a brand that goes by the name Mikoko Deluxe. The new luxury brands have been making a lot of moves but hardly ever updated on social media. This year, they showcased at Accra Fashion Week their latest collection and by no doubt, they set the roof on fire.
Mikoko Deluxe presented a beautiful collection of both resort fashion outfits coupled with eye-popping swimwear that has most likely landed a spot in the history of Ghanaian fashion. The beautiful outfits were worn by ladies of all shapes and sizes, from slim fashion models to plus size girls, to very curvy models, and even petite models.
The brand unleashed a wave of swimwear onto the audience shortly after exhibiting juicy resort outfits decorated with flowers.
Then after came a barrage of real women to hit the runway. The show had the crowd making noise to the maximum as the girls strutted down the runway to Cardi B’s ‘UP’. It was a plus-size show like no other. The show opened with controversial plus-size tv personality Joan, who didn’t hesitate to show the world her figure.
As if Joan didn’t get the audience excited already she was then followed by 3 very busty ladies @Afya_model as known on Instagram and two others.
Amongst the various shapes and sizes were also some fabulous editorial models who also breathed much life into Mikoko Swimwear. Winner of the Face of Accra Fashion Week 2021, Innocentia Atsu, 2nd Runenrs up Mary Fafa and also Togolese top model Armanda as seen below.
The show was no other and had the crown entertained on it’s feet throughout. The collection by Mikoko is their 2022 collection titled ‘Pollination’ and will be available from February onwards. Ghana’s leading fashion event Accra Fashion Week is scheduled for 7-11 December 2022 following their 5th-year celebration last year in 2021. Accra Fashion Week is a platform for African designers that can be compared to fashion weeks across the major capitals. It aims to fill the void which sees tremendous creativity and culture across the continent with the absence of an operating fashion infrastructure.
The epic event took place at Ghana Dubai in Accra, and saw models march down the steps from the Kwame Nkrumah Monument whilst being followed by a spotlight, before circulating the central fountains. Memories of the exciting night still give chills as guests revisit the experience on youtube.
However, rest assured that 2022 is going to be even more exciting with greater performances and an upgraded designer collection. FashionGHANA.com is sure to bring you the exclusives we did on www.FashionGHANA.com/TV. All last year’s shows are available to watch on youtube. Designer’s registration is ongoing on the AccraFashionWeek.org website.
