Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., known professionally as Shatta Wale, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, actor and CEO of Shatta Movements Empire. New information reveals Shatta Wale is Ghana’s most-streamed artiste on YouTube according the Billboard.

The very controversial musician that has recently come out of one of Ghana’s biggest musical beefs with dancehall rival Stonebwoy, and currently engaged in one with Africa’s most popular rapper Sarkodie is not taking this likely.

Despite many attempts to reduce the artists status to that of a ‘local champion’ meaning he is only relavant to his native Ghanaians, this argument was overturned when Beyonce selected the dancehall singer out of all other artists in Ghana to feature on her hit ‘Lion King’ soundtrack, on the song ‘Already’.

With this newly found accolade, it will be very hard to Shatta Wale’s rivals to denounce his position as Ghana’s number one artist, and he knows this very well as he took to social media to state…

“The world says am No 1 through statistics but Ghana music industry says am number last ..Na dat matter we deh try settle since 1960😂😂😂😂Big up every Shatta Movement fan”.

This recent success adds to his already huge profile of successes as an artiste. The numbers prove his influential reach in Ghana surpasses that of Davido and Burna Boy in their native country Nigeria.

In other words, Shatta Wale is more popular in Ghana compared to the popularity of both Burnaboy and Davido in Nigeria.

Davido influence in Nigeria: 11.67million views
BurnaBoy influence in Nigeria: 9.6 million views
Shatta wale(shatta movement) : 13.26million views
