When we hear of Namibia, for those of us who follow African fashion around the world, you would know it’s peak in fashion has been models and model photography. There are shows that happen from time to time, but never really cross over to the main stream like most other countries.
However this might just be able to change, a new show is in town and yes, it’s Windhoek Fashion Week. Windhoek which currently stands as the capital of Namibia and it seems promising. Although it is the inuagural edition, the event seems to have some major sponsors behind it and a lot of foreign participants in attendance, from celebrities to models to designers.
David Tlale and Matheba Bonang from South Africa are two highlighted names of their invited guests. Also other faces and names from East Africa, as well as models from neighboring countries.
The three day fashion event will introduce new brands from Namibia to the international limelight and expose the current talents haboured in the country. Names listed on the schedule goes as follows.
