Fashion Connect Africa has bounced back with the second edition of its runway fashion show after a celebrated debut show in 2019. The show, dubbed Fashion Connect Africa Fashion Week 2021 (FCAFW’21), was supposed to have taken stage last year, but got postponed due to tough constraints the Corona Virus Pandemic (Covid-19) has had on businesses worldwide.
The show’s postponement, however, had generated so much anticipation among industry players until the final release date for its kick-off. It was then held on 20th March 2022, having lined up top designers in the Ghanaian industry to participate.
Here, we bring you the top five (5) designers who showcased at this year’s FCA runway show.
Bri Wireduah assembled one of the best collections of the night. Her ensemble featured beautifully crafted eight (8) pieces of female and two (2) male costumes from the rich-in-quality GTP fabric.
Broots Fashion, owned by Derick Biobele Bobmanuel, has raised eyebrows with its first much-anticipated grand runway appearance after previously setting ablaze Accra Fashion Week in December last year with a chic collection. The Heritage Collection designer put forth an endearing collection tagged Adwuma’Tade3. The collection has since received resounding admiration for its afro-urbanic designs and fine stitches. Clearly, a piece in a wardrobe is likely to raise social standards.
The Me, Myself & Him fashion label was the brand that has mostly ignored the minimalist approach. Each piece of costume from the collection received a large amount of fabric aimed at getting the space in the outfit to avoid excessive heat.
HOUSE OF PAON
Paon was one label that has thrilled the audience at FCA. Despite its minimalism, the outfits boast great
designs that come with simplicity.
