6 Months Students Of Riohs College of Design Ghana Exhibits Class Works On Joie De Vivre

Joie De Vivre meaning the joy of life is a classic fashion show organized by the College of Design Ghana the 2021 Best Fashion School in Ghana that trains individuals to become fashion designers in just six (6) months. Joie De Vivre is a 3-hour exciting event that brings together fashion, poetry, live music, and blending colors to celebrate the evolution of style. Uniquely cut and stitched patterns stylized into leading-edge costumes by Riohs’s (6) months students are cat walked by the students themselves; the idea is to explore how the creatives embody their own art.

The objective of Joie De Vivre (JDV) is to practically assess the students’ design and illustration performance in the course so far. The second objective of JDV is to empower the students. The idea is to explore how the creatives “embody” their own art in the full spirit of charisma to connect with the audience. It is a way to encourage all students to take the course they are pursuing at the College of Design Ghana seriously and also to let them have a feel in the journey of becoming renowned fashion designers. The show witnessed more than five hundred (500) guests in attendance, most of them being fashion enthusiasts, family and friends of students, observers from the Alliance Française community, and the media.

Mr. Richard Ohene Sika who is the Talent Manager responsible for nurturing, coaching, and grooming the students indicated that he was impressed with the combination of fabrics by the students, designs, and ultimately the creative exhibition of the students. The exquisite founder of Ghana’s topmost fashion school was awarded Best Fashion Entrepreneur at Fashion Ghana Honors & Awards proudly organized by Fashion Ghana, the Organizers of Accra Fashion Week. Over the last decade, the institution has existed with the aim of glowing talents. Our rebrand is closely aligned with our ultimate goal of becoming the leading institution in fashion and creative design training in Africa. The College offers a wider range of Creative design courses in Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Fashion, Creative Thinking, Concept Development, Branding, Pattern Making, Fashion Design (Clothing & Construction) and many more.

Offering morning, evening and weekend options, the training transforms students into conscious smarter decision makers with an eye on the sustainability of the fashion industry. Many of their global alumni have gone on to create well-acknowledged brands, such as Naddia Ibrahim, ZaQi Africa, Elikem the Tailor, Royalty by Nanasie, Gallant Belle, Maud by Dianne, Avonsige, Sera Ban, Cosma gh, Mayase gh, kojo Boadi Ghana, Sara the Dress Maker, and a host of other creative minds taking on the global fashion space. Beyond creating and sustaining an industry of fashion entrepreneurs, Riohs alumna are working as professional pattern makers, sketch and digital illustrators, fashion designers, and atelier managers. Some have even been honored in Vogue such as the wildly successful – Ajabeng.
