Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 844 Finally! One of Nigeria’s leading modeling agencies Beth Models, the franchisers for Elite Model Look in Nigeria, have finally switched and launched their own modeling competition Future Face Africa. Elite Model Look is a borderline racist model competition that has been in existence since 1983 and has not seen one black model scoop its title ever. Many were unaware of this until we exposed it in an article when Cote d’Ivoire hopeful Awa Sanako was set to represent her country in 2014. “The First Black Model To Win Elite Model Look” A Promise By Awa Sanoko More Articles You Would Love #fGSTYLE: Couture Was Born In Africa! Elite Model Look Nigeria was launched in 2008 with its first-ever winner being Tracy Onyekachukwu. Tracy hailed from Delta State, Nigeria, and was born in Umede. Tracy Onyekachukwu, Elite Model Look Nigeria 2008 She participated in the first-ever Elite Model Look Nigeria and emerged as the first-ever winner. She then went on to represent Nigeria at the Elite finale in China. In china, she was the favorite at the talent night and was the first African to make it top 15 at the elite competition in 2008. History In The Nigerian World Of Models The competition went on further to discover very interesting winners, many of whom made a great name for themselves in Nigeria. The popularity of Elite Model Look Nigeria began to trickle through the continent and other countries began to show interest in the franchise. The biggest success story for Elite Model Look Nigeria was Mayowa Nicholas, whom many in Africa believe to have won Elite Model Look, but in actual fact, she was a finalist amongst the top 3. She was then signed to Elite Models in Paris and the rest was history! She walked almost any and every top Western show there was. Beth Models Turns A New Leaf However, it seems all this is coming to an and as we are now witnessing a new model competition being pushed by Elohor, founder of Beth Models Africa and Franchiser (possibly former Franchiser) of Elite Model Look Nigeria. Future Face Africa is a pan African model competition that will hold auditions across the continent of Africa. The advertisement of the program is riddled with past Elite Model Look Nigeria winners and powered by the same sponsors. There is no rumoured reason as so why the switch, possible the lease run out, or Beth wanted to expand the competition beyond Nigeria? We don’t know as of yet. Despite whatever reason could be behind the change, it definitely is a step in the right direction as we have been hinting the whole while. It is better we host a model search that decided what is beauty by our standards.
