Court Orders Halle Berry To Pay $8K Monthly In Child Support To Olivier Martinez In Divorce Saga

After almost eight years since their initial divorce filings, Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have now concluded their divorce proceedings. The former couple has reached an agreement to co-parent their 9-year-old son, Maceo, with both joint legal and physical custody, as confirmed by a judgment made public on Tuesday and reported by CNN.

In accordance with the terms of the agreement, Berry will provide Martinez with a monthly child support payment of $8,000. This resolution marks the conclusion of a chapter that began back in October 2015 when the Academy Award-winning actress and the “Unfaithful” actor jointly announced their intention to divorce. Their separation was met with a shared commitment to move forward with respect and goodwill, prioritizing the best interests of their son.

The couple’s initial statement reflected their mutual perspective: “We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and, most importantly, our children’s privacy as we go through this difficult period.”

Following this announcement, Berry and Martinez each filed separate divorce petitions, citing irreconcilable differences. Their connection blossomed during their collaboration on the set of the 2012 film “Dark Tide,” eventually leading to their private wedding ceremony in France in July 2013.

Amid their journey together, Berry shared the joyous news of her pregnancy with Martinez in April of the same year. Expressing her surprise and happiness, she conveyed, “This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”

Prior to her marriage with Martinez, Berry had been married to both baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet. She also shares a 15-year-old daughter, Nahla, with Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. For Martinez, this marriage with Berry marked his first experience with marital union.
