The history of the Kenya’s Maasai tribe is one that is so embedded in the African culture, it has sent waves through the fashion industry influencing a range of creatives from the urban to the affluent high fashion sectors of the world.
It is the same style identity that can be spotted in the roots of Tenesha Luckett’s latest editorial ‘HERITAGE’. Shot by the outstanding Rachel Barboza, the Heritage editorial sees a queen leading her pack through the deserted savannas.
Alongside the queen are her subjects and warriors to protect all that is and belongs to them. Captioned by the creative director and stylist Tenesha Luckett “Never forget we started off in kingdoms”
Her words leaving a misty conundrum of an idea that we are what we are as we are, or alternatively indicating we once were and must not forget. You decide and enjoy the beauty below. Credits at the bottom.
