Awa Sanoko not appearing in the top 15 of Elite Model Search was the biggest blow to the nation of Cote D’Ivoire which was in full support of her participation. The racist event which has not seen one non white model ever win the international since it started in 1983 but continues to waste the time of colored models through inviting them for their participation, upset a lot of Ivorians when she scored so low in 2014 yet being the highest voted candidate.
Nevertheless, Awa Sanoko semi-redeemed herself on Friday night in China by winning the international competition/pageant Miss Model of the World. Although the competition might not have so much relevance in the wider modeling world, it has got the nation of Ivory Coast cheering again, and her name is back in the press.
Hopefully this might restore the hype her face once had when she first appeared on the scene with pictures by Daniel Sery. Good luck to her as Miss Model Of The World and hopefully it can be a spring board to project her further as a model. Apparently, she stands as the first African to win the pageant in 27 years!
