Sudanese Model Ataui Deng has been found, 12 days after she was last seen leaving a Hell’s Kitchen nightclub.
Ataui-Deng Hopkins, 22, was found Monday night at an area hospital, police said.
She had last been seen at around midnight on Aug. 6 leaving XVI Lounge at 48th Street and Eighth Avenue, police said. Hopkins lives on the Lower East Side and is originally from Sudan.
In a video interview with Vogue Italia, Deng said she was discovered in Dallas after attending a model expo. She later modeled for Christian Dior in Paris.
Celebrity chef Roblé Ali–Deng’s friend of more than five years and the man who spearheaded a social media campaign to find the 22-year-old–announced the news on Instagram.
“I am very happy to report that Ataui has been found. She is safe and sound. I want to thank all of our friends and followers and especially the NYPD for their swift and dedicated response. #FoundAtaui. Thanks again and much love,” Ali wrote shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday.
We are more than glad she is safe, on another note, Let’s hope this wasn’t a publicity stunt.
