The show which was created by Cameroonian designer Anna Ngann Yonn of Kreyann Designs in 2011, is a platform that celebrates African fashion, culture, talent, creativity and originality. The K-walk showcases selected designers from all over Africa. The selected designers to show on the K-Walk runway this year, were: Sheria Ngowi – Tanzania MAXHOSA BY LADUMA – South Africa Anna Ngann Yonn – Kreyann- Cameroon South African knitwear designs, MAXHOSA by Laduma started the show. The brand founded by Laduma Ngxokolo is a Xhosa heritage inspired brand which explores and reinterprets the tribes’ beadwork, patterns, symbolism and colors through its design. The brand pushes the boundaries of fashion as it is an agent of change, evolving with the changing times and engaging in the dialogue pushing traditional culture towards the future. Laduma’s designs for men and women have showcased on numerous prestigious runways in Africa, London, Paris and New York. Suiting by the Tanzanian designer Sheria Ngowi lit up the runway next. Sheria’s suits are classic and well-built, daring and youthful for men silhouettes. The male brand collection composes of slim-fit check shirts, slim ties, bow ties, a wide range of colored suits and a blend of African print suits as well.
