Tomorrow is the finals for Elite Model Look international competition. As we reported in our last article on this event, we exposed this racial limitations of the competition, Elite Model Look, that has never seen a black girl, or in this case a non white girl win their international competition since it started in the 80s, despite the numerous amount of super models in the world today.
At this very moment this might come to a stand still, Awa Sanako, whose name has rang bells across Africa and the fashion world for her unique features was already the worlds favourite judging by various blogs. But this was proven when they held an online voting competition based upon facebook likes.
Awa Sanako managed to received over 2300 likes with ease, whilst the next hard working contestant from Uruguay just barely recently surpassed 1300 likes. All following contestants just surfaced around 800 whilst some did not reach above 100.
So now the cards are dealt, the public has acknowledged their best contestant, already a professional catwalk model and walking for some of the best designers in Africa in less than a year, and the most stunning amongst the others. So the question is will Elite Model Look continue to deny non black models from their international title? A no would be the biggest expose of the character of model management in the west.
