At the heat of the Miss World moment for pageant fans, Africa was holding onto it’s only hope in the top 5 running of Miss World. Just like football and every other international competition, when the chips are down to one remaining African country’s rep, the whole African continent tends to rally behind that country. Which is hardly seen in other continents.
Nevertheless, this hope goes by the name of Naa Okailey Shooter, and a very beautiful hope as well. Naa Okailey Shooter is no mistaken beauty queen, she is by far the perfect definition of a beauty queen. Highly educated as an aspiring doctor, but also a former model scouted by Nana Tamakloe…myself 🙂 . Before being a beauty queen, she began her modelling with Confidence Model Management in 2010, formally known as FOWA, and had her first shoot with Ernest Simmons; Ghanaian-UK based photographer.
The doors for Miss Ghana opened to her shortly after when she participated in the auditions. By far she was set to win Miss Ghana 2012 and was the best fit. However, some disagreements with her Miss Ghana 2012 crowning erupted, with controversial publicity spearheaded by celebrity actor Yvonne Okoro, whose sister was in the running.
Fast forward til today, Miss Ghana Carranzar aka Naa Okailey Shooter, 22, came in third. Congratulations to her, but truthfully she deserved to be Miss World. And congratulations to the Miss Ghana organisation for their selection. Also congratulations to Miss Philippines, Megan Young now Miss World took the crown from Wenxia YU of China.
Although, would Naa continue her reign in the public eye as a celebrity/model or return back to the hardworking aspiring doctor, only time will reveal.
