Top German urban brand Impari Moda serged onto the fashion with a funk flavoured tone to their unconventional designs. December marked their 2nd participation on Accra Fashion Week where the Berlin-based fashion label blew the lid off our roofs with their “11:11” Collection. The “11:11” collection is intended to describe the magical diversity in our society. The 11:11 collection was assembled with PET FOIL, which are Foils from old plastic bottles, and inside them were pieces of remaining fabrics from pattern cutting. All of which created a peculiar charm to the eye.
In simple terms, “Impari” means Unequal, thus implying diversity and abundance. The main creative brain behind the brand is Jana Heinemann. Impari doesn’t only mix different fabrics and prints, but also different styles. It works with its own created Zero Waste Technique and reuses all cutting waste to develop haute outfits. The goal of the Designer is to combine colors, originally and self-created prints with comfortability, sustainability, and individuality.
The brand first witnessed itself extending its grasp to the Ghanaian and African fashion base when it first participated in Accra Fashion Week in 2020. Shortly after plans were made, then the coronavirus hit. Within the pandemic, Accra Fashion Week orchestrated its virtual edition, and below were the creative visuals produced by the brand.
On the eve of 12th December 2021, the Ghanaian audience, which turned up in large amounts were blown away. Every piece of Impari has its own mix. The fashion of Impari is comfortable, colorful, and uneven, and the “11:11” collection is intended to describe the magical diversity in our society. It was this exact magic that was showcased on the runway at the Paypecker Accra Fashion Week 2021. See the looks below.

Ghana’s leading fashion event Accra Fashion Week is scheduled for 7-11 December 2022 following their 5th-year celebration last year in 2021. Accra Fashion Week is a platform for African designers that can be compared to fashion weeks across the major capitals. It aims to fill the void which sees tremendous creativity and culture across the continent with the absence of an operating fashion infrastructure.
The epic event took place at Ghana Dubai in Accra, and saw models march down the steps from the Kwame Nkrumah Monument whilst being followed by a spotlight, before circulating the central fountains. Memories of the exciting night still give chills as guests revisit the experience on youtube.
However, rest assured that 2022 is going to be even more exciting with greater performances and an upgraded designer collection. FashionGHANA.com is sure to bring you the exclusives we did on www.FashionGHANA.com/TV. All last year’s shows are available to watch on youtube.
