She is intended to spend a week in Africa at the end of March as part of the United States deepenings its allies as China and Russia form alliances. “The trip will strengthen the United States’ partnerships throughout Africa and advance our shared efforts on security and economic prosperity,” said a statement from the vice president’s spokesperson, Kirsten Allen. Upon arrival, she stepped off the plane with her husband Douglas Emhoff and was greeted on arrival with a handshake by Vice President Bawumia. She mentioned her array to vists first to Ghana, then to Tanzania, then to Zambia. According to her, she is very excited about the future of Africa as it is predicted that by 2050, 1 in every 4 people will be living on the continent of Africa. She intends to address the climate crisis, and work on increasing investments, facilitation of economic growth and opportunity, specifically empowerment of women and girl, youth, digital security, and more.
