Victoria Michaels is a Ghanaian-Nigerian model, FashionGHANA Honors & Awards honoree, fashion icon, actress, brand ambassador, and philanthropist. She is the recipient of several accolades and modeled around the world.
The renowned fashion model in collaboration with Plastic punch have been pushing the initiative of developing an eco-friendly country and were recently spotted picking up trash on the shores.
Some may call it a publicity stunt, but better to have a publicity stunt in a positive direction that the usual embarrassing acts and beefs by most of the illiterate celebrities of our nations.
Her Beach-Clean up exercise with H.E Irchad Razaaly EU Ambassador to Ghana, picks up where the government has failed the nation year after year, and was to commemorate World Environment and Ocean day. The act was sponsored by @europeinghana & @undp.
According to the superstar inspirational models “If you can’t keep your surroundings clean then don’t make it dirty. Respect your environment. Please put your litter in the bin.”
She took to her instagram and wrote “We collected tons of plastics and textiles and I look forward to doing this again with you,yes you reading this 💛.”.
She spoke to her audience in a short video where she expressed how shocked she was at the level of dirt on the beach since her clean-up last year, and how the people are uneducated about waste management.
It was only a week ago, that President Akufo-Addo made it clear he will not fix the sewage problems in the country causing the floods because Ghanaians need to change their attitude toward loitering.
Victoria Michaels also hinted that it was for the community to take responsibility where the government fails in the same video stating “Let us not wait for the government, well they have huge responsibilities and I know yeh they should be doing this, but if they are not doing it you should take it upon yourself to do it, to actually put a stop to all the flood we are having in Ghana at the moment.”
