Ghanaian born rapper Pappy Kojo, known for making some of the nations hits such as Ay3 Late, and ‘Realler No’, made sure he was the Envy of all eyes when he posed at the Iceberg fashion show in Milan Fashion Week earlier this year in Italy.
He was heavily sat at the front row, and his caption thanked Iceberg for inviting him. This was only a few days after he shot the campaign for the Accra Fashion Week promo. The rapper was even seen mocking the situation (not offensively, but rap wise metaphorically) posing with a Corona beer in Milan with the caption “Drinking corona extra in Milan , u rap niggaz dead when I land in Gh”.
Little did Pappy Kojo know the pandemic ahead of him he soon found himself trapped in a country that was quarantined due to Covid 19, popularly known as the Corona Virus.
The Musician has disclosed that he fears for his safety in Italy amidst the coronavirus crisis. In less than 24 hours; over 600 people died from the virus; Italy have become the new center of the pandemic. papy Kojo, speaking to mzgee, revealed that the Ghana Embassy reached out to him that 2 Ghanaians died. He added that he has food, but fears he will soon run out of food.
“ I’m not safe, I live just across a busy street and people keep using that road every minute which is not safe for me, I’ve been calling out to the government [President Akufo-Addo and his ministers] yet no response, I’m a Ghanaian and I’ve done a lot for this country in terms of creative arts.”
“The Ghanaian Embassy in Italy recently reached out to inform me about the death of some two Ghanaians residing in Italy which I told them I’ve heard the news. Sincerely I’m not safe, I have something to feed on now but I’m afraid I might soon run out of food.” Pappy Kojo told 3FM’s MzGee
With that said, we wish Pappy Kojo and all other Ghanaians well and hope he makes it back safely. Watch the video below.
