Burna Boy Faces Backlash From Black Americans Who Don’t Identify With Africa After His ‘Come Home’ Remarks

It seems the ever-evolving identity of dark brown-pigmented people in America continues to alternate and Burna Boy is the latest fly to have been woven into its web.

With political correctness on the rise in the USA, generally speaking, it’s not difficult to irritate a large group of people who can bypass the overall message based on a common word applied.

Nigerian singer Burna Boy recently, amidst the ethnic tension in Nigeria took to his social media page to share a passionate message about love and unity amongst all black persons. The singer shared on his page a post addressing hatred shown to blacks while stating his support for African Americans to get back lands and reparations.

Burna Boy called for African-Americans to go back home if they can’t get what they were asking for from the Western system. Watch the video below.

He noted that Chinese-Americans and Italian-Americans, for example, have more confidence in dealing with issues in America because of their ties to their heritage. At the same time, African Americans tend not to know much about Africa. And even if they came back, there wouldn’t know what country their roots are from due to slavery.

Unfortunately for the Afrobeats Superstar, he was faced with severe backlash from dark brown people living in America who don’t identify with Africa.

A group called ‘Foundational Black Americans’ say African Americans arrived in the USA from the Caribbean, & integrated with Native Americans before slavery.

Burna Boy took to Instagram on March 19 to clarify his comments and announce support for reparations.

The post read, “I never said you are African and not American. I also did not say Africa is part of Heaven. You deserve all the Land and reparations you want from America, and I’m 100% in support of that…,”

The Afrobeat singer also noted that it saddens him whenever he sees Black people who would still love to see the African race divided and conquered. See is clarification below.
