Clear blue skies and beautiful green pastures, the perfect setting for a festival. With that said, the Ewe Kente Festival 2015 just passed and we were beyond disappointed in missing out. The celebration of the popular Ghanaian hand woven cloth took place between the 6th-13th of September. The location was Agotime Kpetoe in the Volta region on Ghana.
The event, founded by Nene Dunenyo I and Manye Zevideka, was comprised by various titles each day and they go as follows…
First Day – Kente Festival – Worshipping Day, Women & Children’s Day, Fetching of the Water, Kente Weaving Competition, the enstoolment of the founders, Nene Duneyo I and Manye Zevideka (pictured below), and Heroes & Heroines Day.
The pictures show this even it definitely a promising event to grow in the Volta region of Ghana. Anyways, see images below to get a perfect insight of what happened.
